Wongan Hills Visitor Centre is totally run by a dedicated team of 30 volunteers opening 7 days a week.
Opening times:
Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm
Saturday 8.30am – 5.00pm
Sunday 9.00am – 12.30 pm
Peak time opened from 8.30am – 5.30pm 7 days a week.
- Souvenirs, great range of books wildflowers/children’s and history
- Public toilets.
- Dump point.
- Plenty of parking for the biggest Caravans.
So glad to discover Wongan has its own tourism centre. Pleased to see some of my favourite botanical haunts are being promoted. I will probably be dropping in this spring as I am celebrating the 30th anniversary of my Botanical Scholarship, awarded by the Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, which first brought me to Australia in September 1982. The knowledge of the flora and love of the land shared with me by residents of the Wongan-Ballidu Shire eventually led to me emigrating to Australia.
